The GTI/TNFF Head of Media & Publicity, Andrew Ekejiuba said that the deal between Propel Sports Africa and telecommunication giants, MTN, will revolutionize the Nigeria Premier Football League.
Speaking with Wakwaka Sports Extra on Global FM Sports Update, Ekejiuba noted that they want everyone across the globe to watch and follow Nigeria football.
According to him, the deal will ensure that over 75 million subscribers of the MTN network in Nigeria would be pivotal in giving the league visibility adding that 8 matches are expected to be streamed on the Propel Sports mobile device.
He said: “The MTN deal was brokered by our partner, Propel Sports. They contacted MTN from the international body and that deal has finally seen the light of the day.
“What we want to do with this MTN deal is to revolutionise Nigeria football. We want Nigeria football to be watched by everyone no matter which corner of the world you are in. You should be able to watch our league matches, 8 out of 10 on your mobile device.
“It’s a game changer for us and we are happy by the partnership and the whole world, the MTN will bring. We have more than 75 million Nigerians that has this MTN line. It’s like giving the league the kind of visibility it needs. This is what we have been praying and clamouring for.
“It’s a way of selling the league and giving it visibility. Let people see these future stars, let people celebrate them and that is why we want the Nigerian league to be in the hands of everyone, no matter which part of the world you are.”
Recall that Propel Sports Africa announced that it has entered a deal with MTN Nigeria for the exclusive broadcast of the games on mobile devices on the MTN Network which will cover eight live games each weekend and translate to over 300 games per season that kicks off across the country today.
