Coming across as not satisfied with his side’s 2-1 win over Plateau United on the opening day of the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL), Technical Adviser of Shooting Stars Sports Club (3SC), Gbenga Ogunbote is looking to draw better performances especially in converting scoring chances.
In his post match interview after the encounter decided on Saturday at the Lekan Salami Stadium, Ogunbote, insisted that more still needed to be done in that particular area.
While he was happy that his team netted twice, he still thinks that his team should be more clinical in front of goals considering the chances they created.
“Before now, we have been crying that we were not been able to score goals, but now that we’ve started with two goals, we have to improve on it.
The 3SC boss also attributed their inability to score more than two goals to anxiety on the part of the players.
“I was thinking we would get some goals, even before the first goal came but unfortunately, you can see the anxiety in the players. The anxiety in my boys robbed us the opportunity of scoring goals before the first one”.
“Be that as it may, it wasn’t a bad one, give it to the team, we can always improve on what we have built”, stated the ex Sunshine Stars coach, who expressed happiness that his team was able to pick the three maximum points.
