Chief Coach of Sunshine Stars of Akure, Edith Agoye is optimistic that despite his team’s 0-1 loss to defending champions of Nigeria Premier Football League, Rivers United of Port Harcourt in the Match Day 1 of this year’s NPFL Championship play-off, his team will bounce back to reckoning starting from their second game on Monday.
Agoye who attributed his team’s loss to some questionable decisions by the centre referee noted that he will correct all the mistakes noticed in their first game and assured that fans will see a different Sunshine Stars in Match Day 2 of the tourney.
“It’s true that we met a very strong opponent but we equally gave a good account of ourselves and if not for the questionable penalty awarded against us by the centre referee, we would have at least shared points with Rivers United.
“But I believe our next match will be better because I and my coaching crew will go back to the drawing board, review the game and make necessary corrections ahead of our next match. I promise our fans that they will see an improved game in our second match,” he concluded.
