Vice Chairman of Lobi Stars of Makurdi, Dominic Iorfa is optimistic that his team will not play second fiddle in this year’s NPFL Championship Play-off commencing Saturday, June 3 in Lagos.
The veteran football administrator while confirming the preparedness of his team for the tournament was emphatic that the field of play will decide the best team among the six contending teams.
“I don’t want to predict the outcome of the championship but what I want to assure our fans is that we’re ready and fully prepared for the challenge and only the field of play will decide the outcome of every game,” he said.
Assessing the chances of his team in Match Day 1 of the competition against high-flying Bendel Insurance, he explained that though their opponents are a very good side but were optimistic that his boys will not take anything for granted in the encounter.
“We’re indeed meeting Bendel Insurance in our first game but the match will be between two good sides and nobody can predict the outcome of that match because both teams have character and are fully prepared for hostilities.
“Right now my boys know what’s at stake and will not take chances against any of our opponents because our purpose of coming to Lagos is not just to participate in the Super 6 but to make a very huge impact,” he concluded.
