Strategic partner to the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL), GTI Asset Management & Trust Limited has assured football fans across the country its readiness fora hitch free Super-Six tournament commencing on 1st June 2023 to 11th June 2023. However, the matches will commence on Saturday 3rd June 2023 after the draws.
GTI’s Executive Director, Nelson Ine revealed this heart-warming news to sports reporters in Lagos on Wednesday while speaking on the readiness of the company to organize a memorable soccer tourney that will determine the winner of this year’s abridged elite football league.
Ine affirmed that the Super-Six tourney is going to be the icing on the cake for the top NPFL clubs that qualified for the big event.
“The Nigeria Premier Football League is undergoing a quiet positive revolution to reposition the league courtesy of GTI. As noted earlier in our commitment message to die-hard supporters cum fans of our beautiful game, GTI is out to lift the Nigeria Premier Football League to the next level. The Super-Six tourney is going to be used to determine the champions of NPFL this season and as we assured earlier, the winning team shall be going home with a whooping sum of N100m (One hundred million naira).
“This said amount is going down in history as the biggest ever to be handed over to any elite league champion in the history of Nigerian club football as the Champion of the League.
“In fulfillment of GTI’s agreement, the company has also assured that each of the participating six clubs in the Super-Six tourney shall be given the sum of N5million respectively to enable them prepare for the big event,” Ine stressed.
Meanwhile, the Interim Management Committee (IMC) of the NPFL has announced that the Super-6 playoff of the 2022/23 Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) season will kick off on 3rd June 2023 and only the top three teams in each of Groups A and B will make up the six teams that will battle for the ultimate prize at Mobolaji Johnson Sports Arena, Onikan, Lagos.
