The much talked about away win in the Nigeria Premier Football League NPFL arrived today as Remo Stars defeated hosts Bayelsa United 2-1 in one of Sunday’s Matchday 3 ties.
The Sky Blues as Remo are known were cruising on a 2nil lead courtesy Adam Olamilekan’s 4th minute and returnee Sikiru Alimi’s 78thmin strikes, but Ekeson Okorie of Bayelsa halved the deficit on 88mins to set up a nervy finish.
But Remo saw the win through to place 6th in the table.

In Aba, defending champions Enyimba International rebounded from their 0-2 loss away to Gombe last term to beat visitors Akwa United 3-2.
Innocent Gabriel and Chijioke Mbaoma put Enyimba 2nil up with goals respectively in the 12th and 14th minutes before Kufre Ebong on 45mins and David Phillips on 64mins equalised for Bayelsa.
Somairi Alalibo secured the win for Enyimba with a 71st minute effort.
Elsewhere Rangers International notched up a 2-1 home win over Niger Tornadoes to occupy 2nd spot on 6 points, Abia Warriors beat Kano Pillars 1-0 in Umuahia while Rivers United shared the spoils 0-0 with visiting Kwara United.
In Ibadan a brace by Malomo Taofeek earned Shooting Stars a come-from-behind 2-1 home win over Gombe United.
At the Mobolaji Johnson Arena in Onikan, Sporting Lagos squandered numerous chances to draw goalless with visitors Doma United.
An electric atmosphere had greeted the start of the encounter with many crossover football fans especially from the entertainment industry cheering ceaselessly the Lagos based team who couldn’t breakdown the compact defensive line of Doma.
Sporting’s goalless affair means they would be replaced at the top of the standings by Bendel Insurance who secured a one nil win over Plateau United yesterday in Benin to make it two successive victories plus a game in hand for the Benin Arsenal.
In another game on Saturday, Heartland survived a late minute penalty to draw 1-1 with hosts Sunshine Stars while Katsina United drew goalless with Lobi Stars.
