NPFL new boys Sporting Lagos have completed the signing of teenage South Sudanese midfielder Joseph Loro as they prepare for life in the NPFL.
Sporting Lagos secured promotion to the NPFL after an excellent season in the NNL, and followed this up by defeating a host of NPFL teams to win the Naija Super 8 tournament in Lagos. Their performances drew the attention of the country to the young club, as a result.
The Lagos-based outfit signed former Simba SC striker Junior Lokosa as their marquee addition earlier in the off-season, and have now gone on to add 19-year-old Loro to their squad as well. The South Sudan U-20 captain was spotted in Lagos ahead of completing his medicals and putting pen to paper.
Loro will join the club on a one-year deal before proceeding to sister club Aarhus Fremad in Denmark on a two-year deal at the end of the 2023-24 NPFL season, as reported by NPFL transfer guru, Mike_ThePundit. The giant midfielder was targeted by Austrian giants RB Salzburg before opting for the more straightforward pathway with Sporting Lagos and their sister outfit in Denmark.
Sporting Lagos will continue preparations ahead of the commencement of the new season slated for September 9th.
