Captain of Shooting Stars Sports Club of Ibadan, 3SC, Malomo Ayodeji Taofeek has debunked rumours making the round that the club is owing players three months salaries.
The youngster, Malomo who has been phenomenal for Ibadan based Nigeria Premier Football League campaigners, Shooting Stars stated this during a Media Parley held on Tuesday at the Office of the Club, Jericho, Ibadan.
The former Under 23 invitee described the story as baseless, untrue and figment of imagination of the writer,hence it should be disregarded in its entirety.
Speaking with Varsportnow.blogspot, the exciting midfield trojan said:
“Let me use this medium to say it unequivocally clear that the Management of Shooting Stars Sports Club is not owing us any salary. In fact, this club is one of the few sides in Nigeria League that owes no salary. I learnt that some clubs pay into agent accounts but 3SC pays directly into our account and it’s in accordance with what we signed on our contractual agreement. Whoever that says otherwise should be asked to provide statements of accounts viz a viz his contractual agreement” The youngest captain in NPFL clarified.
As regards their performances in the first stanza of 2023/2024 Nigeria Premier Football League, the former Sunshine Stars central midfielder admitted that their performance was average and revealed that their teeming fans should expect new players in the second stanza noting that it’s going to propel them for better performance. “We had average performance in the just concluded stanza but it has nothing to do with salaries and we believe that our target is still realistic as some new players will join the team to improve our performance”.
