Niger Tornadoes surrender all three points against Heartland FC at the Dan Anyiam Stadium in Owerri, courtesy of Michael Ogu’s brace in Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) match day 5 encounter.
The Ikon Allah Boys dominated play in the early stages of the game but failed to take their chances, allowing the hosts to grow into the game and gather confidence. Micheal Ogu opened the scoring with a stunning header in the 20th minute to put the hosts in the lead
Ogu sealed victory for the Naze Millionaires in the 61st minute when his low shot inside the box beat Tornadoes defence line and sailed into the net.
Tornadoes technical bench effected some changes towards the end of the game, all in a bid to salvage something but failed to yield fruit.
Mohammed Hussaini came close to reducing the tally when his free kick crashed the wood work.
The loss was the first for Niger Tornadoes in the league this season while Emanuel Amunike and Heartland picked their first win of the campaign.
