Chief Coach of Sunshine Stars of Akure, Edith Agoye has declared that his team is ready to shine and lift the NPFL title at the Mobolaji Johnson Sports Arena in Onikan.
Agoye insisted that the beauty of the game must be allowed to take its firm control and not allow human errors to mar the exercise. He however assured that his team will definitely bounce back after their 0-1 loss to Rivers United.
“The game against Rivers United would have gone either way but my call here is that we must be very cautious as the championship goes on. All the teams are equal and no team must be given undue advantage whatsoever.
“For us, Sunshine is bent on ensuring best practices are strictly followed and it is only such move cum mindset that would help in the growth of the present league as the confidence of stakeholders continues to grow,” he said.
Agoye further revealed that Sunshine Stars are not bordered as they will battle other teams headlong going forward. He assured that his team has prepared well and will face squarely the task ahead.
“I will not agree with you that there is a setback because of our loss at the opener; rather it is football for you and it all depends on how you manage to turn whatever bad situation around. I am optimistic it is all about ensuring that you don’t allow any result to discourage you from focusing and achieving your goals too,” Agoye posited.
