Lobi Stars of Makurdi utility player, Elijah Ani believes that despite the poor start of the team at the ongoing NPFL Championship play-offs at the Mobolaji Johnson Sports Arena Onikan, Lagos, the team can still pick one of the three continental tickets at stake.
Lobi Stars have managed to gain only one point after the Match Day 2 of the championship but Ani believes that if they’re able to pick a win on Wednesday, they will strive hard to win their remaining matches and move up on the log.
“I’m really disappointed by the result of our two games, but we’re not losing hope because in football anything is possible. I believe all we have to do is to put our poor results behind us and concentrate on the remaining three matches. If we can win them, the continental ticket could be possible,” he stated.
Ani who came in as a substitute in their match against Enyimba International of Aba noted that the early goal they conceded in the match affected their game plan but was quick to add that he’s confident the coaching crew under Mohammed Baba-Ganaru will work on the team ahead of their Match Day 3 on Wednesday.
“I want our fans to realize that the early goal we conceded in the first 16 minutes against Enyimba really affected our game plan, but am confident that such will not happen in our subsequent matches because Coach Baba-Ganaru will definitely work on the players psychology before our next game which we must all play to win,” he stated with great optimism.
