Ex- international and Chief Coach of Enyimba FC of Aba, Finidi George has sounded a note of warning to other teams in the NPFL Championship Play-off, reminding them that the former two-time CAF Champions League winners will be a hard nut to crack when hostilities begin Saturday at the Mobolaji Johnson Sports Arena Onikan in Lagos.
Speaking at the unveiling of the new NPL logo and draws for this year’s tourney, Finidi refused to be drawn into what to expect from his team but was optimistic that the People’s Elephant will not disappoint.
“We’re fully prepared for this competition but I won’t be dragged into telling you what to expect from us, but one thing I want to say is that Enyimba will not disappoint.
“There is no doubt that all the six teams are fully prepared for action and Enyimba is no exemption. We’re always ready to get good results from all our matches and we’re not here to complete the numbers because Enyimba is one of the best teams in the country and you shouldn’t expect anything less from us,” he stated.
George believes that the NPFL Championship Play-off will be very competitive as it will bring out the best in the players and bearing in mind that all the participating teams would like to test continental action next year.
