Ex- international and top technical official of Enyimba International FC, Lawrence Ukaegbu has described the Aba-based team as an institution such that anybody that wished the squad away because of the outcome of the game against Remo Stars does so at his or her own risk.
He spoke shortly after Remo Stars forced the former NPFL champions to a 2-2 draw in the opening match of the 2022/23 NPFL Championship Play-off at the weekend.
According to him, Remo Stars came into the game to win just like Enyimba and so the game was not expected to be an easy one.
“Both teams have played against each other during the abridged league and so they knew themselves inside out which was why the game was so difficult for both sides. Enyimba will come back better and roaring to go. I am calling all fans of the two-time CAF Champions League winners to continue to be hopeful because the side will not disappoint when the chips are down.
“Enyimba has been on the scene and experienced enough to turn things around knowing what is at stake at the end of the competition,” he said.
Ukaegbu further revealed that the technical crew led by Coach George Findi will go back to the drawing board to fashion out superior match plans for the remaining games,” he assured.
The former Iwuanyanwu Nationale star performer said that every team wants to beat Enyimba and comes out with extra strength whenever they are paired to play against his team.
