Captain of rejuvenated Remo Stars of Ijebu-Ode, Nduka Junior says that their victory against Lobi Stars of Makurdi has kept their hope of landing a continental ticket alive noting that they will not give anything to chance against Bendel Insurance in their last game at the NPFL Play-offs.
Remo Stars are presently occupying the third position on the log with 6 points from four matches and need either a win or draw against the Benin Arsenals to consolidate their position on the log and pick one of the continental tickets available.
According to Nduka, after playing three draws, the team went back to the drawing board and decided that they must win their Match Day 4 game against Lobi Stars, and he is happy the game ended 2-0 in their favour.
He explained that although Bendel Insurance are on three points from four matches, they will not allow them to be an obstacle to their continental ticket chase.
“I believe that now all my players know that the ball is now on our court, and we must do everything possible to ensure we put up a good performance against our last opponents so that the continental ticket we’ve all been talking about will not elude us.
“I can tell you that this victory will encourage us to play a more purposeful game on Sunday and be one of the three teams that will represent the country in CAF-organised competitions next season,” he stated.
