At the Pantami Township Stadium in Gombe, Gombe United secured an impressive 2-0 win over reigning Nigeria league champions Enyimba on Sunday.
Alakwe Chijioke scored the opener for the home side in the 43rd minute sending the home crowd into a wild jubilation. Ahmed Jimoh scored the second goal for the Savannah Scorpions in the 90th minute of the game, to seal all three points.

Niger Tornadoes secured a narrow 1-0 victory over Rivers United at the Ahmadu Bello Stadium in Kaduna. Bashir Usman scored the only goal of the game from the penalty spot in the seventh minute.
In a thrilling contest in Ikenne, Remo Stars came from behind to defeat seven-time NPFL champions Rangers 2-1. Kazwen Ogunleye gave Rangers an early lead before Remo Stars turned the game around with goals from Seun Ogunribide and Sikiru Alimi.
At the New Jos Stadium, Plateau United secured a 1-0 victory over Heartland FC of Owweri with Bernard Mundi scoring the Abia Warriors
Isaiah Ejeh netted the only goal of the game in Illorin as Kwara United pipped Abia Warriors 1-0.
