Niger Tornadoes and Remo Stars pulled off away wins today in Matchday 3 actions of the Nigeria Premier Football League NPFL.
Super Eagles’ defender Ismail Sodiq and Franck Mawuena scored to help Remo to a 2nil win over Kano Pillars at the Muhammad Dikko Stadium in Katsina, while Tornadoes inflicted a 2-1 loss on Plateau United in Jos to jump to 3rd place in the table.
Remo’s win puts the Sky Blues top of the standings with 9 points and they remain unbeaten in the championship.
Elsewhere in Owerri, Heartland played out a scoreless draw with visiting Katsina United just as Sunshine Stars drew goalless with visitors Abia Warriors in Akure.
Another stalemate ensued at the Kwara Sports Complex in Ilorin where newly promoted side Ikorodu City picked up their first point of the campaign in a 0-0 away draw to Kwara United.
