TORNADOES STUNS SUNSHINE STARS IN MINNA!
Majin Mohammed’s men produced a scintillating first-half display, leaving Sunshine Stars reeling at the Bako Kontagora Stadium, in an NPFL MD17 tie.
MATCH SUMMARY:
The Ikon Allah Boys dominated from the start, with Enerst Onyeka leading the foray of damage against the visitors.
Ernest got the first goal, 3rd minute into the game, his first for the Ikon Allah Boys; he got fed by Abdulrasheed Dabai and slot home to give us the lead.
Dabai and Ernest then combined again for the second goal, Dabai who was left unmarked received the ball, controlled and smartly curled it into the net for his first NPFL goal, to double our lead.
Ernest made his third goal contribution in the game in a matter of 13 minutes, when he set up inrushing Joseph Godstime who made no mistake to slot home for his 5th goal of the season leaving Sunshine Stars stunned.
The fourth goal arrived just before the half hour mark, 27th minute on the clock, resulting from a corner kick. Ifeanyi Okechukwu got the ball and find Abba Khalid who powered a shot that beat Emmanuel Ofori in goal for the visitors.
The two teams retired for half time break as the hosts lead comfortably.
It was a quick actions at the start of the second half, Enerst had a chance to double his lead but the goalkeeper produced a good save to deny him and in a quick transition as the visitors turned defending to attacking, Joshua Enaholo was tested but spectacularly denied the visitors a scoring opportunity.
The Owena Whales would later pulled one back through Sodiq Ibrahim 71st minute on the clock but victory was already ascertain for Majin Mohammed side as Sodiq’s goal was merely a consolation.
