The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) board has ordered a composition of the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) board soon.
That was the high point in the communiqué issued after its recent meeting in Abuja in which they also directed that the Boards of the lower leagues should be constituted.
The current Nigeria Premier league is being organized by the Interim Management Committee (IMC) following the disbandment of the League Management Company which ran the league from the 2012/13 season.
The IMC is currently running what is easily the smoothest league in the country as the rule of law has been strictly upheld. Many thanks to strategic partners of the league body, GTI Asset Management & Trust Ltd, whose timely entrance into the funding of the league has kept the elite league aglow and afloat. The issue of poor funding has become a thing of the past as each of the 20 clubs participating in the 2022/2023 abridge league received a whooping sum of N10million each to assist them prosecute the league. And the winner of the 2022/2023 league will be going home with N100million for their effort, a feat that has never happened in the history of the Nigerian elite league.
