In appreciation of their victory against Ikorodu City FC of Lagos on match-day 29 of the 2025/26 Nigeria Premier Football League Campaign decided today at the Lafia City Stadium, members of Nasarawa United FC were rewarded with the cash sum of Five Hundred Thousand Naira(N500,000.00) by the Nasarawa State’s Commissioner for Youth and Sports Development, Hon. Kwanta Yakubu.
Kwanta who was at the stadium alongside top government functionaries, including the Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice, Barr. Isaac Danladi, and his counterpart from the Ministry of Lands and Urban Development, Barr. David Moyi, to cheer the Solid Miners, presented the money to the Technical Adviser of the team, Mangut Mbwas, shortly after the game, as he said the gesture was his way of motivating the team’s morale and to keep them in sustained spirit for future wins.
Coach Mangut expressed the gratitude of the team to the Commissioner, assuring him and the State of better performances in subsequent outings.
Defensive midfielder, Bright Amadi’s 83rd minute free-kick goal ensured the home side scoop all three points at regulation time to boost their title ambition as they dislodged the Lagos-based side to climb to the 3rd position on the league’s ladder with 47 points, two more points ahead of the defeated side who now occupy the 5th position.
Nasarawa United will next travel to Ikenne, Ogun State, where they will face bottom-of-the-table Remo Stars FC, on Sunday, 15th March, ,2026, at the Remo Stars Stadium, by 4pm.
