Former Rangers coach set to sign two-year contract with Peace Boys
Former Rangers chief coach Mbwas Mangut is set to join Plateau United as the new Technical Adviser ahead of the 2023-24 season, replacing Fidelis Ilechukwu in a direct swap this off-season.
Ilechukwu left his role at Plateau United upon the expiration of his contract, taking up the Technical Adviser role in Enugu, which had been vacated by experienced coach Abdul Maikaba and Mangut, who had been his chief coach at the Flying Antelopes.
Plateau United were contemplating handing a contract to NPFL21 winner and former Akwa United boss Kennedy Boboye, before deciding against doing so in a strange twist and moving towards Mangut.
The management of the Peace Boys have offered Mangut a two-year contract with the option of an extension for a further year to make him their new Technical Adviser. He will be keen to start work soon as he has seen his side lose two key players in Nenrot Silas and Mohamed Zulkifilu to Sporting Lagos in the past week.
