Players’ welfare has become a top priority at Nigeria Premier Football League NPFL outfit, Kano Pillars.
This was after the Kano State Government promised to settle all outstanding match bonuses owed to the players.
The State’s Commissioner for Youth and Sports Honourable Mustapha Rabiu Kwankwaso made this known yesterday when he received members of newly established management board of the club and team captain Rabiu Ali.
Commissioner Kwankwaso confirmed that the disbursement of the funds would commence shortly, as the state government has approved the payments
He highlighted the significance of prioritizing players’ welfare, recognizing their crucial role in the team’s success as they gear up for the upcoming 2024/25 top-flight season, scheduled to begin on 31 August.
“Under my watch, players of Kano Pillars FC will be treated well because they are the main actors and the reason why we are here,” Kwankwaso stated.
In addition to clearing the outstanding bonuses, Kwankwaso pledged to review and increase the players’ travel allowances to ensure they are adequately supported.
