Unveils Club’s new Head Coach. Club’s TM/Welfare Officer suspended
The Vice Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Lobi Stars Football Club, Dominic Iorfa said he remains committed to repositioning the club with innovative policies and programes that would help the club remain viable to compete at the highest level with other elite clubs.
Mr Iorfa stated this today (Monday) during a media briefing on the affairs of the club at the clubhouse at Mccarthy Stadium, Makurdi, Benue State. He said it has become imperative to hold this briefing with the media, especially in acknowledging the role they play in information dissemination.
While speaking earlier on the turbulence waves as well as some setbacks the club encountered during the early preparations for the 2023/2024 of the NPFL season, the Ex-international footballer said those who do not have the interest of the club at heart came under the umbrella of Benue football Stakeholders, wrote fictitious allegations against him to the EFCC, and State Assets Recovery Committee to frustrate his efforts.
Mr Iorfa thanked the Executive Governor of Benue State, Rev. Fr. Hyacinth Iormem Alia and his Deputy who is the chairman of the club Barr. Sam Ode for the massive support they give him saying, he remained grateful to serve in this administration.
The VC unveiled Coach Eugene Agagbe as Head Coach of Lobi Stars saying, he has confidence in him following the results he has gotten so far that has taken the club second on the log. Mr Agagbe who holds a CAF B license thanked the VC/CEO for the opportunity, assuring him that with God’s favours, he shall succeed.
The club’s CEO in another development announced the decision of the Management by suspending club’s Team Manager, Mr Gabriel Ogwuche without pay on the grounds of gross insubordination and appointed Mr Ode Ogah as acting Team Manager.
Relatedly, former BCC Lions of Gboko defunct central defender and club legend, Felix Pilakyaa replaces Mr. Shimlumun Iorpenda as the substantive club welfare officer.
Answering questions from press men; Denen Achusa, Uche Nnoron and Terna Uma who demanded to know the newly signed players, Mr Iorfa assured them that the players would be unveiled on the club’s social media platform soon, and urged them to join the clubs various social media platform like Facebook page, Twitter and WhatsApp for relevant information on the club.
On their part, Abrahams Ochiefe and Kwaghzer Tamenor encouraged Coach Agagbe to work on the team to hold firm and also advised the VC not to be discouraged from helping others, despite the attacks he has received from those he gave hope in their difficult times.
A minute silence was observed in honour of the former Coach of Lobi Stars, Late Justin Tenger, who passed on at a private hospital in Keffi, Nasarawa State.
