…Majin Mohammed Describes The Defeat As a Painful One.
Mustapha Ibrahim’s strike made the difference and ensured the hosts ran away with a slim victory over their visitors Niger Tornadoes FC in an NPFL match day 12 encounter decided at the El-kanemi Warriors stadium in Maiduguri.
It was an intense opening exchanges between both teams, but the visitors showed determination and resilience to end the first half on a stalemate despite the hosts unslaught as both sides squandered glaring scoring opportunities.
Second half restarted and the intensity of game increased as the fans were served some brilliant and fascinating display of football.
The hosts took the lead few minutes into the second half when Mustapha Ibrahim who seems to be ahead of everyone got on the ball and easily slot home to the advantage of his team. Tornadoes players and technical crew protested but the goal stood.
Niger Tornadoes created several scoring chances, but failed to capitalize, they however looked to have drawn level when Joshua Enaholo’s long range ball met Kufre Ebong who brilliantly dribbled his markers and dispatched the ball in to the net in what looked to be legitimate goal but was disallowed.
It became highly tensed at the El-kanemi Warriors stadium as Tornadoes continued to mount serious pressure in a bid to level things up but to no avail.
Coach Majin Mohammed described the defeat as a painful one.
“It was tough loss, a painful one, but we showed character.”
“We’ll put this game behind and focus on the next game.”
