Shooting stars football club technical adviser,Gbenga Ogunbote has made it known that his players were too anxious to score in their third game of the 2023/24 NPFL season where they played host to Gombe United.
The home side were shocked by the Babaganaru’s boys as they drew the first blood in just the tenth minutes of action. As the game proceeded, Ogunbote created chances upon chances but, they could not convert any leaving their fans frustrated. With the individual brilliance of Abayomi Junior in the middle of the park which constantly left Gombe United team as whole struggling, the fans believed the home side will find an equalizer before the but, that was never the case.
The Warriors redeemed themselves in the second period of the game finding the back of the net in the 50th and 89th minutes to record their second victory of the season.
Speaking after the game,Gbenga Ogunbote talked with confirmedsports.com where he confessed that his players were too anxious to put the ball in the net.
“The struggle to get goals is a perennial one,It is not only peculiar to us alone but,to other teams too. We were to anxious to score and that led to wayward shots which eventually went astray,it almost cost us the three points but, we are happy to have come out victorious today. We will continue to work hard until we get to that level we so desire”.
Shooting stars next game is away to Akwa United who are yet to win a single match in the ongoing NPFL season and are bottom of the log with just one point to their name.
